Shane Andrews: I first started working for Blueox in the summer of 1988. I was a Junior in high school and
took a job as a clerk at their gas station in Hamilton, NY. When I started working for the
company, I was just a kid looking to make money to keep my car on the road. As time went by,
I started to get to know not only the people I worked with, but also the people at the
corporate office in Oxford.
As I continued to work for Blueox throughout high school and college, the opportunity came
about to work full time for Blueox in 1991. I started out working in the Fuel Office and
quickly rose through the ranks of the company.
Some of the positions I have held include Store Manager, Lubricant Salesman and Office
Manager. Today, I am the Facilities Manager in Hamilton. I oversee commercial sales and maintain
the marketing and advertising for the company.
Working for Blueox is exciting and challenging. It's exciting because no two days are ever
the same, there is always something different happening. It's challenging because of the
industry that we are in. The petroleum industry is changing at a rapid pace and that helps
keep things challenging and exciting. The best feeling at the end of the day is knowing that
we helped someone solve a problem and helped them stay comfortable at home or at work.
The people at Blueox are what make this company a great place to work. This is seen from the
top management to the people working behind the counter at the convenience stores. Everyone
takes pride in the work they do as we all strive to be the best.
Overall, Blueox is a fine company to work for. It has been a great experience as I have grown
as a person and the company has grown in the time that I have been employed here.
